Service Process

The SmartX site survey ensures that we can successfully meet your identifying, tracking and managing needs. Each jobsite is different and will require a different setup to operate at its peak. A site survey also helps us determine which system – a barcode or RFID system – will work for you!  

When you are implementing a brand-new solution, we highly recommend site surveys because a solutions expert can give you recommendations and ensure your solution needs are met. For example, ordering RFID equipment from an online store does not guarantee that it will work in your location or on your material. Our SmartX HUB engineers have the expertise to make sure you are successful.

FEASIBILITY STUDY

We carry out a feasibility study to find out which of all potential solutions is best suited to the implementation of your project. We define, compare and evaluate possible scenarios for you. We then supply you with all the information you need in order to make the best decision. After this, we elaborate on the ideal solution and use it as a basis for all further stages – such as the survey and the final network design.

At the survey, we carry out an on-site check and evaluation of the results generated by the feasibility study. We compare to ensure the construction plans are correct in every detail, for example, or whether undocumented conversions or alterations have been made and whether all installation points are accessible and usable. We also check the required infrastructure such as air conditioning and power supply. In addition to this, we take care of all organisational matters such as contacts, access authorization, storage facilities and many other details.

The next stage is to merge the results of the feasibility study with the insights gained from the on-site survey. We coordinate the final network design with you, creating the basis for subsequent material orders and project approval criteria.

IMPLEMENTATION PLANNING

Based on the network design, we now compile all the necessary documentation for subsequent installation. Our Smartx experts use state-of-the-art software to prepare the entire documentation for the project, including wiring and building plans.

INSTALLATION

All installations are carried out on site to excellent standards by expert and experienced teams from our local Smartx subsidiaries or else Smartx-certified service partners.

START-UP

We provide extensive know-how to put your high-quality comprehensive solution into operation – including implementing the correct software, configuring the system and subsequently checking functional capability. If problems arise, we run an error analysis and initiate any actions that may be necessary. Experienced and expert start-up teams are on hand worldwide for this purpose.

PROJECT APPROVAL

The client has to approve a system before it goes into regular operation. We go through all the approval criteria with you, taking care of organisation, implementation and follow-up after site acceptance.

SYSTEM APPROVAL

System tests are generally required before a system goes into full operation, so as to verify functionality and compatibility. Smartx supports you in carrying out these tests, as well as looking after supply, installation and transfer of the system to the test environment. We also help you define and analyse the test cases and we are available to address any technical issues or answer other questions that might arise.

MATERIAL PROVISIONING

Just-in-time availability of the required materials is the key to successful implementation. Our material service supplies all the parts and tools required for setting up and operating Smartx systems. We provide everything for a turnkey solution – accessories and consumables made by Smartx itself as well as products supplied by other providers and partners, including additional spare parts – all this from a single source.

TRAINING
