Tracking returnable transport items (RTIs) with RFID
Each returnable transport item is uniquely identified and automatically tracked as it moves between sites, depots and partners.
From production, to warehousing, distribution and retail, we advise you on how to optimise your process execution using RFID tags, gates, tunnels and handheld readers. Best RFID Technology
REVOLUTIONIZING RETURNABLE TRANSPORT ITEM MANAGEMENT tracking, and optimization of your assets
The SmartX HUB platform delivers unprecedented visibility through its proprietary multi-layered tracking architecture. Unlike traditional asset management systems that merely provide historical data, our platform creates a dynamic digital twin of your entire RTI ecosystem – capturing real-time movement patterns, dwell times, utilization rates, and environmental conditions.

How does RTI tracking work?
Smartx HUB Smart Container supports all types of technologies: RFID, LoRa, BLE, or GPS, with each container receiving a unique identifier. Whether your container is in your factory, with your customer, or in transit, each technology is activated based on the situation. You will be able to track every movement of the container as well as any status changes.
- Radio Frequency Identification (RFID): tags on RTIs are read at portals, gates, production points, or dock doors.
- Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE): small beacons support indoor visibility and smaller zones.
- Other tracking options: GPS or network-based methods can extend coverage outdoors or between locations.
Our Services
Real-time multi-site tracking
Our proprietary RFID sensor network creates a digital process that tracks containers with pinpoint accuracy, eliminating blind spots across manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and partner locations. The system's flexible architecture accommodates diverse reading environments from high-speed conveyors to outdoor yard management.
Alerts and exception management
Business rules engines allow operations teams to establish custom alert thresholds, automated replenishment triggers, and exception management protocols. These workflows dramatically reduce manual intervention dramatically reduce manual intervention while ensuring compliance with industry-specific requirements.
Multi-stakeholder Collaboration Portal
A dedicated interface enables secure information sharing across internal departments, external suppliers, and logistics partners. This collaborative environment creates unprecedented accountability throughout the supply chain network, significantly reducing asset leakage.
Enterprise Integration Framework
Our platform seamlessly connects with existing ERP, WMS, and MES systems through pre-built connectors and API-first architecture. This integration capability ensures data flows bidirectionally across enterprise systems, creating a unified source of truth for all asset-related information.
Predictive Analytics Engine
Beyond simple tracking, SmartX HUB employs sophisticated algorithms that analyze historical movement patterns to optimize container positioning, predict maintenance requirements, and identify optimization opportunities. The system continuously learns from operational data to enhance forecasting accuracy.
Comprehensive Business Intelligence
Interactive dashboards provide executives with actionable insights into fleet performance metrics, optimization opportunities, and return on investment calculations. Our proprietary valuation models quantify the financial impact of operational financial impact of operational improvements across multiple time horizons.
Quickly locate assets
The ability to track and trace the reusable containers provided the data the client needed to improve its inventory management and cut costs in every corner of the process.
Use our platform to track RTIs as they move through a facility allowing employees to see asset locations in real-time, gain visibility into equipment status, and plan resource use.

View List allows you to quickly find assets and view preventive maintenance (PM) dates and and view preventive maintenance dates as well other asset details
Visualize asset location. Improve compliance with the regulations
The SmartX solution also manages the containers’ traceability. It provides an aggregated view of container location and movement, manages reconciliations and exceptions, and identifies choke points to enable pre-emptive action.
The software also handles communications with the warehouse, supplier, and plant, and initiates and expedites workflows proactively to avoid bottlenecks.
SmartX HUB solution gives you total visibility to where and how each asset is being used, enabling you to optimize asset workflow and achieve real-time PAR level visibility and more efficient asset management for high-demand and highly mobile assets
Automate tracking of all things moving in a supply chain
The system automatically alerts relevant staff upon an area's shortage or surplus of RTI. The system knows exactly when the minimum quantity of RTI or supplies has been reached, so it can automatically re-order more.
Count inventory as it moves through the supply chain to know the location of everything in real-time.
Prevent packing and shipping errors with instant audits of items prepared for shipping, and eliminate the need to handle items multiple times.
Collect operational data in the background to make data-driven process improvements for workflow efficiency.
100 % of your containers geolocated
RTIs can be a beneficial tool in a wide variety of industries. But because they are often under-valued by those who handle them, they can also be subject to high loss and shrinkage levels. RFID offers an affordable and efficient way to keep RTI inventories visible and working. RFID tags on each individual unit make it possible to accurately and automatically track its movement, using fixed readers at strategic in-and-out portals at the distribution center, or handheld readers for mobile readpoints at remote or customer facilities.
Automating the management of these mobile assets means all users can be held accountable for the units that pass through their facilities. That means shrinkage and other losses can be curtailed, cycle times can be optimized and RTI inventories can be right-sized and lean.
QUANTIFIABLE BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION
The SmartX HUB implementation methodology follows a proven four-phase approach that delivers measurable results within the first 90 days of deployment:
Phase 1: Intelligence Activation
Our deployment team conducts a comprehensive assessment of current container flows, establishing performance baselines and identifying immediate optimization opportunities. This discovery process typically reveals 15-20% of containers trapped in operational black holes.
Phase 2: Operational Integration
Following strategic tag placement and infrastructure deployment, the system begins capturing movement data across all critical nodes. Initial automation workflows are established to address the highest-impact operational challenges.
Phase 3: Performance Acceleration
As the system accumulates operational intelligence, advanced optimization algorithms identify container rationalization opportunities, optimal positioning strategies, and preventative maintenance requirements. Clients typically achieve a 40% reduction in manual tracking processes during this phase.
Phase 4: Continuous Innovation
The matured system enables ongoing optimization through machine learning and predictive analytics. Regular business reviews identify additional value creation opportunities as the system continues evolving with your operational requirements.
What's more? Powerful Web Portal
The web portal enables users to monitor and manage the stock movement in real time and track each box individually. The web interface is customisable and allows the creation and allocation of different types of accounts, specific to the user who can then track their stocks of boxes in real time.
