HACCP records that write themselves — and deviations that get closed, not just noticed
Critical control points logged automatically from calibrated probes, every zone on one live grid, and each excursion tracked as a record with a severity, an owner and a recorded outcome. Built for RDC 216/430 and ISO 22000 inspections.
Most food safety failures are not measurement failures — they are follow-up failures
The Challenge
The reading was taken. The alarm did fire. What nobody can produce, six weeks later in front of an inspector, is what was done about it — who saw the excursion, what corrective action was taken, and whether the probe that took the reading was itself in calibration at the time.
Meanwhile the supervisor on shift is checking zones one at a time, and the defrost log lives on a clipboard that gets filled in at the end of the day from memory.
The Solution
SmartX HUB records critical control points automatically from sensor readings, shows every monitored zone's current status on a single wall-display grid, and turns each excursion into a tracked deviation record with a status and a severity — closed by an explicit resolve action that records the outcome.
Because the probes are registered in the platform's calibration module, the instrument's own certification is verifiable alongside the reading it produced — not just the number on the chart.
An alert that fires and disappears is not a corrective-action trail
In SmartX HUB, a temperature or HACCP excursion is created as a tracked record — it carries a status and a severity, it can be filtered by zone, and it stays open until somebody deals with it. It is not a notification that scrolls past on a dashboard.
Closing it takes an explicit resolve action, and the outcome is recorded with it. That is the difference between "the freezer alarmed on the 14th" and "the freezer alarmed on the 14th, the load was moved to unit 3, and here is who signed it off" — which is the version an inspector actually asks for.
- Status and severity on every deviation, filterable by zone
- Explicit resolve — the outcome is written down, not remembered
- Escalation if ignored — unacknowledged alerts move up through WhatsApp, SMS, email, push, in-app or webhook
- Acknowledge, snooze or resolve — three real actions, so walking to check a unit is not the same as ignoring it
Five things an inspection asks for that a clipboard cannot produce
Critical control points, equipment temperature and defrost logs are captured from sensor readings as they happen. Nothing is copied from a chart onto a form at the end of a shift, which is where most retrospective "corrections" enter a food safety file.
The Live Grid shows the current status of every monitored zone at once, wall-display style, with per-zone history available for after-the-fact review. It is the view a kitchen or cold-store supervisor watches during service, not a report somebody runs on Monday.
Thermometers and probes are registered in the platform's calibration module, so the calibration status of the device that produced a HACCP reading is itself verifiable — including its certificate, which is sealed with a SHA-256 chained hash and can be revoked but never silently deleted.
Each excursion is a record with a status and a severity, filterable by zone, closed only by an explicit resolve action that records what was done. The corrective-action trail builds itself as a by-product of handling the problem.
HACCP reports, norms compliance and audit views support RDC 216/430 in Brazil and ISO 22000, with a dedicated hospital food safety track for catering operations inside a healthcare facility.
What is actually in it — FOOD, module 15
Critical control point records with the monitoring behind them, not a checklist that references them.
Defrost cycles and equipment temperature kept as part of the same file an inspector reads.
Every monitored zone's current status on one display, with per-zone historical readings alongside it.
Status, severity, zone filter and an explicit resolve action that records the outcome.
The measuring instrument's own certification is verifiable through the calibration module, not assumed.

What buyers ask before an audit cycle
Does the platform actually record critical control points, or just store readings?
It records them. HACCP records and PCC/CCP monitoring are first-class records in the module, alongside defrost logs and equipment temperature — with the underlying readings coming in automatically from sensor integration rather than being typed in.
Is this a separate sensor system just for food safety?
No — and that is deliberate. The module reads from the same ambient temperature and humidity sensor tables the rest of the platform's IoT layer uses. There is no parallel food-safety-only pipeline to maintain, and no second set of devices to reconcile.
What happens when a zone goes out of range?
A deviation is created as a tracked record with a status and a severity, filterable by zone. It is closed by an explicit resolve action that records the outcome — so what stays behind is a corrective-action trail, not the memory of an alarm.
Can we prove the probe itself was in calibration?
Yes. Thermometers and probes feeding HACCP readings are registered in the platform's calibration and certification module, so the instrument's calibration status is verifiable alongside the reading it produced. Certificates are sealed with a SHA-256 chained hash in a digital vault, and a certificate can be revoked with a recorded reason but never hard-deleted.
Which standards does it support?
RDC 216 and RDC 430 in Brazil, and ISO 22000, through HACCP reports, norms compliance and audit views. There is also a dedicated hospital food safety track for catering inside a healthcare facility.
What does the supervisor actually look at during a shift?
The Live Grid — a wall-display-style view showing every monitored zone's current status at once, with per-zone historical readings available when someone needs to review what happened rather than what is happening.
How do alerts reach people who are not looking at a screen?
Through the platform's central notifications engine: WhatsApp, SMS, email, in-app, push and webhook, with escalation rules if nobody acknowledges. Responders can acknowledge, snooze or resolve — three distinct actions, so walking over to physically check a unit is not recorded the same way as ignoring the alert. Cooldown and de-duplication stop a drifting sensor from generating fifty identical messages.
How long does it take to get working alert rules for a food operation?
The rule template library is filterable by industry, so a food and beverage client sees templates built for that operation rather than a flat list. Applying a template creates a real, live rule in one action. A simulator can then fire that rule through the production dispatcher — real email, real SMS — to confirm it behaves correctly before anything depends on it.
Can it flag a failing freezer before product is lost?
That is the predictive path, and it is a separate capability from HACCP recording. The platform's sensor anomaly engine runs statistical methods across sensor histories and can surface a drift pattern as an early equipment fault, raising a maintenance work order request for a manager to approve. Worth scoping explicitly — it depends on which sensors are deployed and how long they have been running.
