A Complete Asset Management Toolkit

From accurate counts to smarter decisions

Accurate inventory is the foundation for every smart asset decision. SmartX HUB brings together the full set of asset management features — counting, finding, auditing, reconciling and reporting — on top of our asset inventory management module.

Advanced RFID tags and the platform automate precise location data through passive RFID and active IoT — so you count assets accurately, identify what’s lost or misplaced, and cut over-purchasing. These features pair naturally with our CMMS features for a single system of record across asset and maintenance data.

Core Features

Count, find and go paperless

Rapid Inventory Counts

Complete a full inventory in a single day with one person — a task that used to take weeks — and get an always-current asset list.

One Platform, Every Capture Method

The right technology for every asset

Asset management runs on whichever technology fits the asset and environment — you can start simple and add precision where it’s needed:

RFID

Bulk reads, no line-of-sight — the backbone of fast, accurate counts.

Location is the foundation, not the finish line

An accurate count is where it starts. SmartX HUB turns that inventory into action — reconciling against financial records, flagging what’s missing, reallocating what’s idle, and feeding maintenance and analytics. Locate, act, predict — all on one platform.

Why It Pays Off

Asset management features that pay for themselves

Replacing manual counts with RFID changes the economics of asset management. The benefits show up fast:

Rapid Counts

Complete a full inventory in a single day with one person — work that used to take weeks.

Labor Efficiency

Cut labor costs by reducing the time and people required to run a count.

Better Decisions

Accurate data drives smarter asset decisions at every level of the operation.

Non-Intrusive

No line of sight, no opening cabinets or drawers — the whole process is streamlined.

Cost Savings

Decrease unnecessary purchases and rentals by improving tracking and utilization.

FAQ

Asset Management Features — Common Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from teams evaluating RFID asset management, inventory and reconciliation with SmartX HUB.

What are the core asset management features?
The core asset management features include rapid inventory counts, Search & Find for missing items, paperless custody, no-line-of-sight scanning, reconciliation and audit trails, performance tracking, and multi-technology capture (Barcode, RFID, RTLS, GPS and IoT). SmartX HUB delivers all of these on top of our asset inventory management module.
How long does a full asset count take with RFID?
This is the biggest change teams notice. Conventional counting can take weeks or even months, leaving data outdated by the time it's finished. With SmartX HUB, you can count all your assets in a single day with a single person — and because RFID needs no line of sight, there's no need to open cabinets or drawers.
What does "no line of sight" mean, and why does it matter?
Unlike a barcode, which must be seen directly by a scanner, an RFID tag can be read through boxes, cabinets and drawers without being visible. A handheld reader picks up many tags at once, from a distance — which is why counts go from weeks to hours and nothing has to be unpacked to be verified.
How does the Search & Find feature work?
Search & Find guides you to a specific item with audible and visible signals that get stronger as you approach — like a Geiger counter for your assets. Since RFID needs no line of sight, you can locate something inside a closed cabinet or drawer without opening anything.
How is this different from real-time asset tracking (RTLS)?
They're complementary. RTLS continuously tracks where assets are, live, on a map. Asset management features focus on counting, auditing, reconciling and finding — the periodic verification and financial-record accuracy side. Many teams use both.
Can these features reduce over-purchasing and rentals?
Yes — one of the biggest savings. Many organizations buy or rent equipment simply because they can't find what they already own. With accurate visibility you can identify misplaced and missing assets, eliminate double purchases, and reallocate underutilized equipment. Explore asset utilization for related capabilities.
Do the features support audits and financial reconciliation?
Yes. SmartX HUB eliminates "phantom inventory" by reconciling physical scans against financial records and auto-generates audit evidence for hassle-free reconciliation. You get accurate discrepancy reports, a complete audit trail, and historical data you can retrieve and review.
Can I manage asset custody without paperwork?
Yes. You can register assets to the responsible person without paper signatures, keeping a full digital custody chain. This cuts paper use and archive costs, and gives you a clear, searchable record of who holds what — useful for accountability, returns and audits.
Do these features connect to maintenance and other systems?
Yes. Asset records feed the wider platform — including CMMS features — so a scanned asset can trigger scheduled maintenance and its full history stays in one place. Everything runs on one platform and connects to enterprise systems through open APIs.
